Presidents / Hon. Secretaries,
State SRAs

Dear All,

The world of squash is uniting to support the sport's bid for inclusion in the 2016 Olympic programme with a massive worldwide festival on May 23rd -> "world squash day".

Every squash club on the planet is being urged to throw open its door to promote the sport and help the Olympic bid on this special day and to show people what a fantastic sport we have.

WSF Patron, YAM Tan Sri Tunku Imran, who is also the President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, has urged SRAM and hopes that Malaysia as the leading squash nation in Asia would put on a gigantic show on this day. His fervent wish is for no less than 50 Clubs all around the country to have a squash programme to celebrate the day.

SRAM has taken on YAM Tan Sri Tunku Imran's wish as a challenge and urges all State SRAs to get all the Clubs, Schools, Colleges, Universities and Squash Centres in your respective States to have a programme. It could be any squash programme, including just getting together to play squash but not forgetting to cry out, "Squash for Olympics Twenty Sixteen".

Please also remember to do a fund raising drive to help out the bid team. All funds collected from all the States will be passed to WSF to aid the bid team, who have done a great job thus far and can do more with help from all of us.

Also, do not forget to go to the dedicated website, www.worldsquashday.com and load up all the photos and stories from all squash centres in your State.

Before 4th May 2009, please inform SRAM about the programme in your State and the number of centres involved.

Many thanks and will look forward with great anticipation for your reply.

Warmest Regards,
K.Sivanesen
Hon. Sec. SRAM
