Wilson Launched [K]Factor Technology ontrol is key focus of new Factor racket line.
Wilson Racquet Sports, the world’s #1 brand in tennis, officially unveiled Factor, the newest evolution in racket technology, at a global launch event today in Las Vegas.
Combining the next generation in nanotechnology along with three unique frame engineering innovations, Factor delivers the ultimate level of ontrol for all types of players. World #1 Roger Federer, who played an integral role in the development and design of the new Six.One racket, addressed the audience from Dubai where he is playing the Dubai tournament. In response to what Factor does for his game, Federer states, “The Six.One gives me incredible feel. With Factor, Wilson has taken racket technology to a whole new level and I love what it does for the control of my game.” Federer switched over to the Six.One last month at the Australian Open, where he swept the Men’s Championship without dropping a single set.
“Factor represents a huge breakthrough in racket technology because it consists of not just one technology, but rather four exclusive technology innovations that work together to give every player the Factor difference. It is a true technology system, and the result of this system is incredible control,” says Jon Muir, General Manager of Wilson Racquet Sports. “It has clearly made the difference already for Roger and Serena (Williams, 2007 Australian Open Women’s Champion), and we are very excited to provide this difference for players of all levels.”
Building on the nanotechnology platform that began with Wilson’s top selling nCode line, Factor now takes the process to the next level by introducing Karophite Black, a breakthrough structure created when bonding Carbon Black, Graphite and SiO2 together at the nano level, creating a denser and stronger racket matrix. Wilson then added exclusive frame engineering technologies to produce the comprehensive Factor racket series. These technologies enable players to maintain power while providing them with the ultimate level of control.
The four key umbrella technologies of Factor include: * arophite Black
* A proprietary next generation structure created through a unique process at the nanoscopic level resulting in more feel and an even stronger and more stable racket.
* onnector
* 2 external wings molded into each side of the hoop to increase dwell time of the ball on the string bed upon impact. This provides greater control and comfort with a larger sweet spot.
* ontour Yoke
* New frame engineering technology that enhances stiffness at key stress points on the racket for improved torsionnal stability.
* ompact Center
* New Industrial design innovation that improves handling and maneuverability while providing additional feel. Directly inspired by World #1 Roger Federer.
The new Factor models will begin rolling out in stores starting in late March and April 2007. Consumers are already able to purchase the Six.One models, including the Six.One Tour, which is made to Federer’s exact specs and features his signature on the frame (suggested retail price - $209). The other rackets in the series feature the same arophite Black technology, as well as a combination of the otherFactor technologies, allowing consumers to select a frame suited specifically to the needs of each player to maximize control.

ey Features of FACTOR<1.> arophite Black
A proprietary next generation structure created through a unique process at the nanoscopic level. nCode technology filled the gaps in between graphite fibres with silicone oxide. arophite Black atomically bonds these two structures with nano black carbon fibres resulting in more feel and a stronger, more stable racket.
<2.> onnector
2 external wings, featuring Wilson's isozorb technology, modelled into each side of the hoop to increase dwell time of the ball upon impact. This provides greater control and comfort with a larger sweet spot.
<3.> ontour Yoke
New frame engineering technology that enchances stiffness at key stress points on the racket for improved torsional stability. This is achieved by increasing the number of corners of the yoke of the racket. This is taken from the principle that if you fold a piece of paper 10 times it is much stronger than it was to begin with.
<4.> ompact Center
New industrial design innovation that increases the gap between the base of the throat and the top of the grip. This technology was directly inspired by Roger Federer and improves handling, maneuverability and provides additional feel.
4 ey Technologies:arophite Black, onnector, ontour Yoke, ompact Center
3 ey Benefits:
Increased feel, more strength & stability, bigger sweet spot
FACTOR® = 4 UBED = 64% MORE ONTROL
