Wee Wern’s best is still not good enough
KUALA LUMPUR: Top national junior Low Wee Wern gave her best but it was still not good enough for her to win her second NSC Super Satellite No. 2 tournament at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
The fifth-seeded Penangite went down 6-9, 8-10, 4-9 to top seed Line Hansen of Denmark in 36 minutes.
It was the Dane’s second straight title after last week’s NSC Super Satellite No. 1 triumph.
Yesterday’s win saw Hansen pocket US$760 while Wee Wern took home US$532.
In the men’s final, top seed Shahid Zaman came back from a set down to beat second seed Mike Corren of Australia 7-11, 11-4, 11-5, 13-11 in 31 minutes for his second straight satellite win as well.
Shahid defeated Corren 3-1 in the final last week.
