No boring moments by the sea
CHERATING, about 50km from Kuantan, is famous for its white sandy beaches and is a perfect holiday destination.
It is also the location for over a dozen renowned hotels and resorts nestling on the Terengganu-Pahang border and fronting the South China Sea.

Manager Ben Cheah said the resort was fully occupied on most weekends.
He said it had a good mixture of foreign and local tourists.
“During normal days, we receive group tours comprising private firms and government agencies, students and youths.

Cheah said the resort had facilities for football, beach volleyball, squash, tennis and table tennis.
He said they also had a sea sports centre providing sand scooters, motorboats, speedboats and banana boats.
“Children are not left out as they can take part in batik painting, indoor board games, video games, snooker or ride a bicycle.

“In short, we have the right activities for the whole family,” he said.
Cheah said the barbecue by the pool introduced recently received a good response.
He said his staff would invent new activities and programmes to ensure guests were not bored.
“We will launch a month-long Pahang food festival in early August.

“Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Datuk Maznah Mazlan is expected to grace the event,” he said.
Cheah said a variety of Pahang dishes and specialities would be introduced at the event, with a change in the daily menu.
“Most of the dishes will be unique to Pahang,” he said, adding that the mostly-local chefs would cook up dishes from Kuala Lipis, Raub, Jerantut and Temerloh.
