Shahid Zaman Wins KL Satellite
15 Jul 08 - 18 Jul 08 Shahid Zaman Wins KL Satellite Howard Harding Pakistan's Shahid Zaman claimed his second successive PSA Tour title in Malaysia with a convincing victory in the final of the NSC Satellite No4 at the Bukit Jalil National Squash Centre in Kuala Lumpur. It was the second time in seven days that Zaman had faced Australian Mike Corren in a Tour final. After reaching the climax without dropping a game, the Pakistani fought back from a game down to beat Corren 7-11, 11-4, 11-5, 13-11 in 31 minutes to net the sixth Tour title of his career. It was the final day of a two-week visa for Zaman in Malaysia - and the player risked arrest for competing in the match. "I was under a lot of pressure," Shahid told reporters. "There was a chance that they could have arrested me but I was ready to take that risk. "Thank God I didn’t give him (Corren) a walk-over," said Zaman after getting his stay in the country extended following a visit to the Malaysian immigration department just hours before the final.
