Monday July 28, 2008 Nicol eyes sixth straight title in Singapore PETALING JAYA: Newly crowned Malaysian Open champion Nicol David will be gunning for her sixth consecutive title in the professional squash circuit when she competes in the Singapore Masters on Wednesday at the Kallang Squash Centre. World No. 1 Nicol, who bagged her fourth consecutive Malaysian Open title on Saturday, will face Egypt’s Engy Kheirallah in the first round. In the same half of the draw is fifth seed Jenny Duncalf of England and her compatriot, fourth seed Tania Bailey. Natalie Grinham of Holland, who lost to Nicol in the final of the Malaysian Open on Saturday, is the second seed in the tournament. World champion Rachael Grinham of Australia is seeded third. Nicol is on a roll in the Women’s International Squash Players Association (Wispa) circuit with five straight wins this year – the Apawamis Open, Kuala Lumpur Open, British Open, Seoul Open and the Malaysian Open. Nicol, who is based in Amsterdam under former world number Liz Irving, will also feature in the Dutch Open in September. She is the only Malaysian player in the main draw while five other national players will be playing in the qualifying rounds. There are Sharon Wee, Delia Arnold, Low Wee Wern, Lim Yoke Wah and Siti Munirah Jusoh.
