Joshna to reach semi-finals
KUALA LUMPUR: Sixth seed Delia Arnold put up a gutsy display to upset second seed Joshna Chinappa of India to advance into the semi-finals of the NSC Super Satellite No. 2 tournament at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil yesterday. Delia, who is ranked 46th in the world, took 45 minutes to get the better of the 37th ranked Indian – winning the quarter-final match 9-5, 9-7, 5-9, 9-2. The national number three will play against fourth seed Alana Miller today for a place in the final. It will be her first match against the lanky Canadian, who came back from a set down to beat eighth seed Low Wee Wern of Malaysia 1-9, 9-6, 9-4, 9-5 in 41 minutes. The 22-year-old Delia said that she was thrilled to chalk up her first-ever win over Joshna in a Wispa tournament.

“I played against her a few times at junior level but lost all the matches.
“ I played pretty well this time and was confident of beating her after winning the first two sets. It was a good victory for me,” said Delia.
Fifth seed Lim Yoke Wah also reached the semi-finals with a hard-fought 6-9, 9-4, 9-3, 9-4 win over team-mate Siti Munirah Jusoh. Yoke Wah will play against top seed Line Hansen of Denmark today.
The Perak lass said that she defeated Hansen 3-1 to qualify for the main draw of the Malaysian Open last year.
“I hope to raise to the occasion tomorrow to beat her again,” said Yoke Wah.
In the men’s competition, sixth seeded Malaysian Nafzahizam Adnan advanced with a 13-11, 6-11, 11-5, 11-8 win over Pakistan’s Aqib Hanif. He will play against top seed Mike Corren of Australia in the semi-finals.
