Calveen and Farah live up to their top billings
KUALA LUMPUR: Top seeds Calveen Choh of Pahang and Sabahan Farah Bazilah Shahari bagged the boys’ and girls’ Under-12 titles respectively in the Third CIMB National Junior Squash Circuit Grand Finals in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
In the final matches, Calveen downed Selangor’s Nicholas Tan 9-1, 10-8 while Farah brushed aside Sarawak's Mindy Lee 9-2, 10-9.
Kedah were the toast of the Finals, winning three of the six finals con-*test*-('")ed yesterday.
S. Sivasangari start the ball rolling when she captured the girls’ Under-9 title, beating compatriot Nur Aliah Izzati Mohammed Hanis 9-3, 5-9, 9-3. The top seed in the boys’ Under-9 competition, Ong Sai Hung, beat Thoo Jun Yi of Perak 10-9, 9-3 for a grand double.
Aika Azman added the girls’ Under-11 title to Kedah's haul.
