Men's singles quarter-finals: Mohd Nafzahizam Adnan bt Richard Thomas Hill (Sin) 9-6, 9-1, 9-0; Elvinn Keo bt Kenneth Chan (Sin) 9-6, 9-5, 9-4. AS expected, the men's squash final is an all-Malaysian affair between Nafzahizam Adnan and Elvinn Keo. In the semi-finals yesterday, the top seeded Nafzahizam moved into the final with an easy 9-3, 9-4, 9-4 win over Thailand's Chatchawin Tangjaitrong at the Ratchaphruek Club in Bangkok. Second seed Elvinn lived up to his part of the bargain, dropping a game in a 9-7, 5-9, 9-2, 9-4 victory over Filipino Andrew Robert Garcia. “Both players are now in high spirits after having played well to reach the final,” said team manager K. Sivanesan. “We were a bit concerned about Elvinn, initially, because this is his first major tournament since moving into the senior ranks. But he executed a good game plan to beat the Filipino. “I am expecting a close final. Nafzahizam and Elvinn train together back in Kuala Lumpur and they know each other's game very well.”

Malaysia fall to France in quarter-finals
SECOND seed Elvinn Keo turned the tables on team-mate Nafzahizam Adnan to win the men's squash gold medal at the Ratchapphruek Club in Bangkok yesterday. It was a blow for the 22-year-old Nafzahizam, who had wanted to keep the gold medal in the family following the success of his younger brother, Nafiizwan, at the last Games in Manila. Elvinn did not have it easy against the top seed and slogged to carve out a 10-8, 4-9, 9-4, 5-9, 9-4 in 90 minutes. Nafzahizam is ranked 120th in the world while the 19-year-old Elvinn is at number 155. Both of them were playing in their first SEA Games.
